Data Analyst job description

ERP Support & Optimization

Provide ongoing ERP system support, including troubleshooting data-related issues through a ticketing system.

Administer ERP configuration changes and enhancements to maintain data integrity and integration accuracy.

Provide Snowflake and SQL expertise.

Support adoption and optimization of new and existing transaction types, promoting data governance best practices.

Manage post-implementation feedback and drive continuous improvement through data analysis.

Data Analysis & Business Insights

Gather, analyze, and interpret large datasets from ERP systems to support business decision-making and process optimization.

Translate complex data into actionable insights that improve system performance and operational efficiency.

Identify risks, dependencies, and process gaps through data analysis and recommend practical solutions.

Evaluate system outputs to ensure alignment with defined data requirements and quality standards.

Data Modeling & Requirements Definition

Break down complex business and functional requirements into detailed data models, user stories, and development-ready tasks.

Translate business needs into clear, testable data requirements and acceptance criteria.

Ensure solutions meet data quality standards and support broader digital transformation initiatives.

Develop and execute data validation and testing scripts in collaboration with QA and development teams.

Collaboration & Agile Delivery

Partner closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, developers, and cross-functional teams to define and refine data-driven features.

Collaborate with third-party vendors and IT teams to support integrations, technical changes, and certification processes.

Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives).

Track milestones and progress of data-related deliverables to ensure on-time, high-quality execution.

Data Analyst job requirements

Technical Expertise:

Strong experience working with large datasets and complex data structures.

Advanced SQL skills (required) with the ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries.

Snowflake experience preferred.

Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, data validation, and quality assurance processes.

Experience working with ERP systems in a functional or analytical capacity.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.

Familiarity with collaboration and Agile tools such as Azure DevOps and Miro is a plus.

Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline preferred.

4+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, Functional Analyst, or Business Analyst role within ERP, digital product, or software development environments.

At least 1 year of hands-on experience working in Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, or similar).

Professional Skills:

Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities with a data-driven problem-solving mindset.

Demonstrated ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality data outcomes.

Ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders and vice versa.

Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and build alignment across cross-functional teams.

Willingness to travel to Charlotte NC occasionally (<5%) as needed to support project initiatives.
