This is a local recruitment. Out of area candidates will be responsible for travel costs for final in-person interviews and for moving costs, if selected. The candidate will also need to be available to travel to Utah within 5-7 days of notice.

We are looking for someone to analyze and work with data in order to assess our spaces, collections, and services and to tell compelling stories about the value of the J. Willard Marriott Library. The Assessment Data Analyst will conduct and coordinate assessment activities that measure and communicate the Library’s effectiveness, impact and value. You will work with individuals and units across the Library to establish and standardize the collection of data needed to understand the impact of the Marriott Library on our students, faculty, and staff. You will be skilled at both qualitative and quantitative analyses and can communicate findings clearly.
This position reports to the Alice Sheets Marriott Dean of Libraries and will work closely with library leadership to define key performance indicators for library effectiveness and impact. The Assessment Data Analyst will also partner with other campus units to support university and external data reporting including accreditation requirements, library member association statistics, and more.
This position is currently designed as a hybrid of on-campus and remote work. Specific telecommuting arrangements will be based on the needs of the position and authorized at the discretion of the supervisor.

Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with library leadership to determine areas where data collection and analysis is needed to understand how library services and collections are utilized.
- Inventory data currently collected across the Marriott Library and identifies gaps in data collection. Plans, develops, and implements assessment programs in service of the Library’s mission and strategic goals.
- Coordinates data collection across the Marriott Library and other campus libraries for annual reporting and operational statistics. Serves as the main point of contact for ARL , ACRL , IPEDS , and university data submissions.
- Uses data to report and tell stories about the Marriott Library.
- Works collaboratively with library and campus partners to gather, analyze, and report relevant data. Works with library administration and leadership to help tell the story of the Marriott Library through relevant data and to inform decision making in support of library initiatives.
- Uses best practices for efficient and sustainable data collection, management and storage, in line with university policies.
- Builds capacity for assessment in the library through training and mentoring staff and acts as a contact for support on assessment projects to provide technical expertise.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Two to four years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Preferences
- Quantitative and qualitative skills, including demonstrated experience with assessment tools and strategies.
- Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools for accurate and compelling data storytelling.
- Demonstrated experience in producing data-rich reports that are easily understood by various stakeholders.
- Experience with assessment in libraries and/or higher education.
- Experience managing projects and/or multiple priorities and successfully meeting deadlines.
- Understanding of best practices for efficient and sustainable data collection, management, and storage

What we offer
Pay Rate Range $60,000 - $65,000
