To that end, Perfect Game produces the very highest national-level individual player showcases and team tournaments all over the United States and creates innovative apparel and headwear to enable peak-level performances on field. PG events have proved invaluable to the college coaching community and major league baseball as they can scout a large population of talented ball players all in one location, supported by industry-leading data capture at each game. The PG Database is the largest of its kind anywhere in baseball. At any given time there will be nearly 300,000 high school players being followed via the database per year.
PG Staff members are located throughout the country. Perfect Game employs close to 200 full-time people and another 150 part-timers, most of whom have either vast baseball experience or a wealth of expertise in their respective fields. Perfect Game is proud to have the largest scouting department in all of baseball.
Job Description & Responsibilities
As our Merchandise Business Data Analyst, your main purpose will be to help develop and communicate key business insights for the merchandise team to key partners, which will help influence decisions around inventory and future merchandise buys. You’ll work with large data sets from multiple system platforms and summarize findings in a succinct manner. You’ll be establishing new processes and tools that can be replicated across different seasonal product timelines. You’ll also be assisting with site maintenance required by both our Ecommerce and On-site sales systems.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Data mining and reporting analysis of all seasonal sales down to style/color/size level
- Assist in the decision-making process for seasonal inventory and buy decisions
- Assist with introducing new seasonal and yearly KPI’s
- Identify key priorities and challenges that will lead to action
- Determine new and more efficient ways to drive business decisions
Additional Details:
This role will be based out of the Portland office but flexible with a hybrid/remote schedule. Travel will be less than 10%.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or combination of relevant education, experience and training
- 2+ years experience with financial analysis of sales and inventory
- Advanced knowledge in Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, macros, etc.)
- Proficient in MS Office
- Proven ability to manage ambiguity
- Able to work flexible hours as we operate in all US time zones
- Previous experience in the apparel/footwear industry highly preferred
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
