Data Engineer, Marketing job description

Founded in 2006, we are a nimble and growing agency headquartered in beautiful Boulder, CO with associates around the country and are seeking an experienced Senior Digital Analyst to join our team.

The Marketing Data Engineer will assist the Director of Marketing Analytics in advancing the quality, quantity and variety of analytics offerings at Parallel Path. This role is responsible for the overall data foundation that all reporting and insights will be built on. This starts with the tracking of all critical data through custom tagging clients websites. The role will be responsible for optimizing the Parallel Path data warehouse to collect and organize this data across a variety of automated and manual data sources. A strong working knowledge of SQL and Python will be needed to ensure data is organized and flowing through to dashboards efficiently and accurately. The ability to visualize data within dashboards will be the final stage of primary responsibility in this role.

Primary Responsibilities - Assisting Director of Marketing Analytics with:
Data Warehouse Maintenance: Jointly manage the design, stability and cost of Big Query data warehouse along with the Director of Marketing Analytics.

Data Management: Leverage marketing data API management tool (Supermetrics), independent API’s and client tool API’s to maintain, build and improve data pipelines. Maintain manual data sources with an ongoing eye towards automation

Website Tagging: Create, edit and manage tags through Google Tag Manager to assist with capturing first-party data. Assist clients with tagging strategy recommendations.

Business Intelligence: Design and build client and internal dashboards (Looker Studio & Adobe) that are intuitive, fast and provide impactful visualizations.

Conversion Tagging: Collaborate with the media team to ensure conversion tracking aligns with campaign goals. Build and test goals, triggers, variables and events in GTM

Reporting: Pull data and metrics to help media team compile client-facing reports. Build clear and concise slides that mesh with broader storyline of the entire reporting deck

Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000 based on experience-level and qualifications

Data Engineer, Marketing job requirements

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Information Systems or equivalent additional experience/certifications

2-5 years of related experience

Advanced expertise in SQL and either Python or R

Working knowledge of data visualization tools like Looker, Power BI, etc.

Strong understanding of Adobe and/or Google Analytics 4 as well as tag management systems (preferably GTM)

A basic understanding of:

Performance media platforms: Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta Ads, etc.

Motivated and able to work in a self-directed manner

Comfortable presenting work in a group setting

Based near one of our office locations - Boulder, CO or Columbus, OH
