Lead Data Analyst job description

Mattel is currently seeking a Lead Analyst for the Global Quality Group. This role will be a member of the corporate quality, regulatory, consumer service and safety team that supports our iconic brands such as Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher Price and American Girl. The Lead Analyst will be responsible for supporting data analysis and modeling projects, and developing Tableau dashboards to provide insights and recommendations to support business decisions. The role will require a high degree of technical skills, critical thinking, and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. In addition, the role will be responsible for cross-functional project management and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within scope.

What Your Impact Will Be

  • Develop and implement business ready datasets for our analysts and business partner to identify trends, patterns, and insights to support strategic business decisions.
  • Initiate new development of and support existing Tableau dashboards to improve our self-service environment
  • Work with teammates and partners to help upskill the group to elevate our analytic capabilities and foster data literacy. Consult with other experts in the org to create a collaborative environment
  • Support quality analytics team on how to effectively leverage quality data tools to increase effectiveness of analysis. Train team on new tools as needed
  • Create an environment of collaboration by consulting with other subject matter experts in Data Analytics as needed
  • Research the latest data tools, trends, and methodology to ensure the team is staying up to date on best practices
  • Provides technical leadership in the design and development of dashboarding and visualization projects
Lead Data Analyst job requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ Years of functional experience in a data engineering/analytics role (ie. Google Cloud Platform, Azure)
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence tools - preferably Tableau (ie Cognos, PowerBI)
  • High competency in SQL, ETL and data modeling methodologies and tools (ie. Google Big Query, Alteryx, Ascend, Python, Git)
  • Familiarity with designing and implementing data models and data lake solutions
  • Ability to partner and communicate effectively with both technical and business facing groups in a global workforce
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • A self-starter that can work independently
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
What we offer at Mattel

The annual base salary range for this position is between $81,600 and $110,000.
