CharterSAFE is a nonprofit Joint Powers Authority (JPA) providing tailored insurance, risk management, and safety solutions exclusively for California charter schools. Founded by charter school leaders in 2004, CharterSAFE exists to empower its members with comprehensive, cost-effective risk protection and proactive safety support so they can focus on educating students. Our membership-based model means our members are not just insured, they are owners with a voice in governance and a stake in the organization’s long-term success. Today, CharterSAFE serves hundreds of charter school sites across the state, offering innovative insurance programs, hands-on risk management resources, and collaborative member services designed for the unique challenges facing charter schools.
