Data Analyst job description

The Renaissance Data Services team is responsible for the successful integration and configuration of data sources into a customer's product. A Data Analyst II acquires, adjusts, and validates data imported from other systems into Renaissance products. As such, part of their work involves working directly with customers to obtain the data needed. They must be meticulous and able to spot data problems or inconsistencies and decide proper remediations.

As a Data Analyst II, you will:

  • Connect a variety of data sources including student information systems, assessment platforms, behavior management systems and/or more, to populate customer products with accurate data.
  • Implement and maintain configuration as code to ensure products are set up to meet customers’ analytic needs.
  • Perform daily triage of managed integrations, including addressing customer technical inquiries about these integrations and performance data.
  • Proactively look for ways to improve integrations, documentation, and configuration as needed and collaborate with support and implementation specialists to advise and fix customer data quality issues, participating on customer calls as needed.
Data Analyst job requirements

For this role as Data Analyst II, you must have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis
  • Shown organizational skills and workflow management.
  • Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of ETL processes
  • Experience with regular expressions
  • Ability to work independently to solve problems.
  • Knowledge of open-source technologies such as Babelfish for PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Airflow, Snowflake, and Docker

Bonus points for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in mathematics, computer science, engineering or similar field
  • Knowledge and experience with Renaissance products or educational technology

This range is based on national market data and may vary by experience and location.
