We calibrate our models against ground-truth data from public agencies to ensure accuracy and precision.
Job Description & Responsibilities
Preferred: Kansas City or New York
The Data Analyst supports the acquisition, normalization, and quality assurance of various types of data used to support Replica modeling processes. This resource must have strong communication and organizational skills, be proficient with common tabular data formats, and have experience with Python, GIS, and SQL. The ideal candidate will also have familiarity and experience with transportation and transit data such as auto counts from traffic management systems and the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS). This role offers significant opportunities to advance professional skills with data science, data analytics, and big data.
More specifically, the Data Analyst will perform the following tasks within the role:
- Acquire, transform, and load data from multiple sources into predefined schemas.
- Develop and use repeatable extraction processes to harvest public and private sources of ground truth data.
- Build tooling with Python, SQL, and Jupyter Notebooks to automate data validation and review tasks.
- Communicate with customers and data providers about our data requirements and standards.
- Review and analyze data to assess its fitness for use within our transportation models.
- Perform quality control and review of various data inputs and outputs.
- Organize, catalog, and stage ground truth data for modeling pipelines.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree with demonstrated experience in the fields of data science, data analytics, GIS, or other related fields.
- Experience with SQL and querying large databases
- Efficiency with automation and tooling languages like Python to build reusable components/tools.
- Experience with geographic data types (e.g., geojson, geodatabases, shapefiles) and spatial analysis techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Technologies: Python, SQL, QGIS, PostGIS, Pandas, BigQuery, Jupyter Notebooks.

Compensation And Benefits
- Replica is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
- The base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $110,00. The salary range describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position across all US locations. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to relevant qualifications, depth of experience, skill set, certifications, trainings, education, and specific work location. The compensation packages may be adjusted based on candidate work location, due to differences in the cost of living for the given location.
- The total compensation package for this position additionally includes equity stock options, employee benefit package, 401k and/or 401K Roth with a 3% safe harbor employer contribution and may also include other applicable incentive compensation and/or bonuses.
- Employees, and their families, may elect coverage to Replica’s Benefit Plan including Medical (PPO base, PPO buy-up, HMO, HSA), Dental (PPO base, PPO buy-up), and Vision (PPO base, PPO buy-up) plans. Employees may also choose to elect an FSA or HSA account.
- Replica provides Basic Life Insurance and AD&D, however, additional Voluntary Life Insurance and AD&D can be purchased for the employee, spouse, and/or dependent child(ren).
- Replica observes 13 paid holidays annually and provides employees with an unlimited PTO policy. Sick leave is accrued based on a 40-hour work week, capped at 72 hours of accrued sick leave. Once an employee reaches the cap of 72 hours, sick leave accrual will cease until used, at which time accrual will resume. Unused accrued sick leave may be rolled over from year to year. New parents will receive 8 weeks of paid parental bonding leave. Additionally, all employees receive access to our Employee Assistance Program.
