Data Analyst job description

We are looking for a data analyst who has experience creating innovative data visualizations in a healthcare environment and who has a passion for communicating data through clear and compelling visual design. This person is responsible for providing data analysis, data visualizations, and dashboard development using tools like Amazon Quick Sight, Tableau or Power BI. In this role, you will join a dedicated team where you will collaborate with leading industry experts to support the mission and vision to transform the medication experience for patients.

Job Specifics

  • In partnership with the clinical and technology teams, you will: Leverage technical and business knowledge to organize and present data in a way that facilitates data storytelling, provides actionable insights, and drives business decisions.
  • Translate complex data into dynamic data visualizations using Amazon Quick Sight Tableau or Power BI to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Deliver, support, and train users on reporting content, how to use reports, understand what they are displaying, and explain what they mean.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Amazon Quick Sight, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Apply best practices in data visualization to ensure that reports and dashboards are user-friendly and effective.
  • Work closely with the clinical team to identify potential clinical opportunities from analysis of claims data and translate these opportunities into financial and clinical metrics.
  • Identify opportunities and recommend innovative solutions based on insights gained from modeling and clinical insights.
  • Establish internal benchmarks to monitor the validity of the ongoing data extracts compiled from the five founding Plans.
  • Work independently and efficiently in role.
Data Analyst job requirements

The skills and experience you bring to this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to analytics (i.e. business, computer science, statistics, finance, information systems)
  • 3+ years of healthcare analytic experience - PBM or health plan experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with a business intelligence dashboarding tool such as Quick Sight, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel/Access and SQL.
  • Superior problem-solving capabilities and learning agility with an attention to detail.
  • Experience working with medical and pharmacy claims data.
  • Familiarity with Medispan (or First Databank) and medical coding (HCPCs, CPTs) systems and applying these codes in analytics.
  • Collaborative team player mentality with a passion for using data to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communications skills, including an ability to communicate with a diverse audience (verbally and in writing).
  • Experience in working with large, complex databases and process automation.

Salary Considerations:

Anticipated annual base pay range: $80,000 - $110,000.
