Data Analyst job description

The Authentic FP&A team is looking for a Data Analyst to join the team and help leverage the power of data to drive business growth. As part of the FP&A team, you will learn how the current data is organized and represented within the company's systems and utilize the company's reporting and analytics platform to extract meaningful insights from the data. Reporting to the Senior Director of FP&A, your responsibilities include data engineering, visualization, and the development of business intelligence solutions. This role involves translating business needs into technical specifications, utilizing data analytics and financial analysis skills. Your focus will be on optimizing data pipeline, queries, reports, and dashboards to ensure quality, accuracy, operability, and reliability, ultimately enhancing growth and profitability.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Deliver Business Intelligence visualizations including routine and ad-hoc dashboards, reports, KPIs and graphs that further analyze and answer business questions.
  • Manage the design and delivery of end-user training, best practices and training materials.
  • Document the development processes and procedures and provide technical support as needed.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot reports and dashboards for performance, quality and data integrity.
  • Assists with the design, implementation and support of the organization’s enterprise data infrastructure and architecture to determine and standardize a relevant data collection and aggregation strategy, data warehouse, and data repository approach.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on BI & data management strategies, products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Collaborate with nearly every team in the company, including direct collaboration with executives.
  • Assist with other projects as needed.
Data Analyst job requirements

Must Haves:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science & Information Technology / Business Data Analytics / Data Science or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or 2 years of experience in similar fields
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with BI Tools (Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, Tableau Server)
  • Experience working with validating, analyzing, and reporting financial statement data and reports
  • Knowledge of data visualization principles and effective dashboard design
  • Establishing complex reporting with an understanding of common KPIs/business metrics and processes
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and G Suite
  • Experience with Relational Database Management and ETL is a plus
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python or R for data manipulation and analysis
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues reported by users
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to reconcile data, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external partners
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Process-driven and constantly looking for ways to streamline and simplify complex task
  • Be able to work independently and within a team

Primary Location Salary Range:
