A Day in the Life

The Advanced Analytics Analyst is an established professional individual contributor within the Corporate Audit Data Analytics team. This role supports the execution of data analytics projects that enhance audit effectiveness, strengthen risk insights, and improve efficiency through the use of data and technology. The Advanced Analytics Analyst partners closely with audit teams and technical stakeholders to design and deliver analytical solutions that support risk‑based audits, SOX activities, and advisory projects.

This role may require up to 30% travel to enhance collaboration and support the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Supports the design and execution of data analytics solutions that enhance risk‑based audits, SOX activities, and advisory engagements.

Develops and executes data queries, data transformations, and analytical models using tools such as SQL, Python, Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, or Power Platform.

Collaborates with audit teams and business partners to understand data requirements and translate business questions into analytical approaches.

Creates dashboards, visualizations, and reporting solutions that clearly communicate insights to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Ensures appropriate documentation is maintained for analytics projects, including objectives, data sources, data models, methodologies, and testing results in accordance with department standards.

Works with large enterprise datasets and evaluates data quality to support reliable analysis and conclusions.

Manages multiple assignments simultaneously in an organized and structured manner while tracking tasks and escalating risks or issues when appropriate.

Builds collaborative relationships across the Global Audit Department and with cross‑functional partners including IT, data teams, and business stakeholders.

Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and development in data analytics, audit analytics, and emerging technologies.

Data Analyst, Advanced Analytics job requirements

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree

2+ years of experience in Audit (e.g., Big 4 or similar), Internal Audit, Accounting, Finance, or another analytical role.

Experience with data analysis, reporting, or analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar technologies.

Nice to Have

Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree, preferably in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).

Foundational programming experience using tools or languages such as SQL or Python to support data analysis, automation, or data extraction.

Basic understanding of data mining, data transformation, and data modeling concepts.

Familiarity with enterprise systems such as SAP or other large ERP platforms.

Basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.

Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative development practices.

Exposure to AI‑assisted analytics or coding tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.

Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to communicate insights clearly across technical and non‑technical audiences.
