Job Summary

The Data Engineer will work on the data science team and work closely with the technology team, product managers and executive level management across the ISC platform.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive and user-friendly dashboards using Power BI for various stakeholders.
  • Write SQL queries for ad-hoc reporting and creation of new reports/dashboards as well as advanced analytics projects
  • Analyze complex datasets to extract meaningful insights and trends related to insurance policies, claims, and underwriting.
  • Work closely and communicate with data engineers to support new data warehouse
  • Assist with data validation for new databases, reporting, and external data sources
  • Assist data team in improving methods, analysis and data gathering techniques
  • Assist with preparation of data visualization for meetings and presentations
  • Create and maintain documentation of datasets and analytics projects
  • Collaborate with underwriting, claims, finance, and others to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
Data Analyst, BI job requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a BI Data Analyst, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics or a related field
  • Proficiency with SQL, R, Python, or similar
  • Proficiency in Power BI & DAX
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel Skills preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of programming, database, and data mining principles
  • Ability to support multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well in a remote team environment
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

The starting annual pay scale for this position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience. In addition, the company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with match, paid time off, and other benefits.

ISC's salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

National Pay Range

$100,000—$110,000 USD
