Our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) portfolio is a powerhouse collection of consumer-first brands, supported by media industry leaders, Comcast, NBCUniversal and Sky. Peacock is seeking a Technical Data Analyst to join our Global Playback Insights Team. In this role, you will perform complex data analysis, create dashboards and KPI reporting, design queries across large data sets, and provide proactive feedback to internal teams to improve the user playback experience. You will deliver key insights and analytics that will help make better business decisions, improve KPIs, and deep dive on issues particular to video and ad delivery systems.

We work closely with Playback and Application Development, Operations, and CDN Architects to drive resolution using data. We value attention to detail, the ability to weave an organized story using analytical insights, and positive collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor KPIs and provide trend analysis
  • Serve as a Playback KPI SME, delivering detailed analysis and recommendations to Support, Development, and Operations teams
  • Identify active production issues and potential areas of player improvement using front end monitoring tools and backend KPI data
  • Turn KPI trends into a cohesive story and deliver high level summaries to executive management
  • Develop automated alerting and anomaly detection systems
  • Produce and maintain KPI queries, dashboards, and reports
Data Analyst job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant field
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience working with video or similar datasets
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Apache Superset, Conviva, NewRelic, etc)
  • Experience with troubleshooting analysis
  • Strong SQL skills; experience with Python, R or a similar programming language is a plus
  • Proficiency with BI visualization tool (i.e. Looker, DataStudio, Apache Superset, Grafana)
  • Experience with creating data visualizations to communicate metric performance
  • Experience with statistical analysis or data modeling techniques
  • Highly collaborative, able to build strong relationships with internal and external teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deal with ambiguity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong analytical skills with a ‘join-the-dots’ approach
  • Proactive and independent and able to articulate to a technical and non-technical audience
  • Should be a problem solver with an open mind and an eagerness to pick-up new skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Background in media/streaming analytics highly preferred
  • Experience developing advanced analytics tools for identifying areas of improvement a plus
