Data Analyst job description

This individual will research in a timely and accurate manner interest rate information from financial institutions. This position is responsible for updating rates averaging 20 institutions per week (at least 4 per day). The Data Analyst is responsible for doing new research and providing support for all operations within the team. They will report directly to the Project Manager and must make accurate decisions and perform their assigned responsibilities.

The Data Analyst will be responsible for leading this research day-to-day and generating new insights in collaboration with the advisory practice. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Gathering and researching interest rate and product parameter information for financial institutions. The information must be gathered consistently in an accurate and timely fashion. If the information is not accurate and/or not gathered in a timely fashion, our clients will receive late or incorrect information to base their decisions on
  • Update interest rate and product parameter information on all financial institutions assigned for the day
  • Make appropriate updates to all necessary call sheets. (i.e., phone numbers, websites, notes and contact information)
  • Make appropriate changes to financial institution information (i.e., product name changes, tier changes, mergers, and adding/deleting products)
  • Review and audit worksheets carefully, accurately, and on schedule/time
  • Assures all call-sheets, e-mails, and web sites are filed away by the end of the day
  • Assist the Project Manager in keeping custom reports up-to-date in regards to institution changes, product introductions, product deletions, and new research
Data Analyst job requirements

The Data Analyst should have experience designing and fielding survey research, managing research projects involving external vendors, conducting statistical analysis, and delivering actionable insights to a diverse set of internal and external clients. Additionally, the role requires exceptional time management skills and the ability to turn around time-sensitive research findings with a high degree of accuracy and insight.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in a quantitative research role with a good understanding of Business Lending Products
  • Ability to interpret quantitative data and visualize it in a clear manner
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Enthusiasm for learning, particularly diving into new subject areas
  • Strong multitasking aptitude and the ability to take on responsibility
  • Commitment to diversity and empathy for those around you
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet
  • Bank and credit union deposit product knowledge is a plus
  • Extensive telephone experience (6 months of experience recommended)
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excel in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent customer service skills in person and by phone

Base Salary Range: $76,500 - $85,000 plus bonus

This is a hybrid position, with the ideal candidate located near one of our regional hubs (New York and Chicago) and able to travel to an office as needed for working sessions or team meetings.
