Data Analyst job description

The Data Analyst will be responsible for creating, monitoring, and troubleshooting data for the organization bridging data analytics and health care cost containment while driving positive changes in the industry

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensure Quality and Accuracy of data.
  • Research and evaluate opportunities to demonstrate value\ROI to clients.
  • Turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.
  • Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders to prioritize and develop strategies for business and information needs.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Find patterns and trends in data analysis. By examining data sets, uncover valuable insights that can lead to informed decision-making.
  • Transforming complex data into meaningful insights.
  • Participates in the Quality Management Program by adhering to all company policies and procedures and identifying opportunities for improvement to ensure quality services are rendered to clients and customers.

Data Analyst job requirements

Education

  • A four-year college degree or equivalent industry training and certifications in one of the following Health informatics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Sciences or Data Science preferred.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

  • N/A

Experience

  • Three to five years of experience in a data analytics or related position
  • Experience with Microsoft's enterprise technology platform, including SQL. Python and Power BI.
  • Minimum of one year managing projects.

Requirements/Skills

  • Demonstrated work experience deriving actionable insights from the data that an organization generates.
  • Understanding of what data to collect and be able to carry out effective data analyses and building predictive models.
  • Able to problem solve and have a desire to learn.
  • Strong writing skills, as well as the ability to articulate analytical concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • Understanding of healthcare claims data including but not limited to ICD and CPT codes.
  • Analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making.
  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
  • Work and communicate knowledgably both independently and within a team environment.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and perform under tight timelines.
  • Must be a fast learner with a commitment to personal growth.
