Data Analyst, Marketing job description

The Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting marketing data to help the company make informed decisions about its marketing strategy. This includes developing reports and dashboards, research, and identifying trends. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to extract insights from various data sources, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations that optimize our marketing efforts and enhance customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret marketing data from various sources, including web analytics, CRM systems, social media platforms, and email campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain marketing performance dashboards, reports, and visualizations to track key metrics and KPIs.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in marketing data to uncover opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to define measurement frameworks and success metrics for campaigns and initiatives.
  • Conduct A/B tests and other experiments to assess the effectiveness of marketing strategies and recommend data-backed adjustments.
  • Perform segmentation and profiling of customer data to support targeted marketing efforts and personalized messaging.
  • Provide insights into customer behavior and preferences, helping to refine audience targeting and messaging strategies.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems.
  • Present findings, reports, and recommendations to internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Asset with analysis and framework for large scale data migration projects related to marketing tech stack changes and similar toolsets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Data Analyst or similar role within marketing for a technology-driven organization.
  • Proficiency in tools and platforms such as Excel, HubSpot, Salesforce, PowerBI, and Zapier.
  • Strong understanding of marketing concepts, including segmentation, targeting, positioning, lead & sales lifecycles, and campaign measurement.
  • Familiarity with web analytics platforms (Google Analytics/GA4) and marketing automation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data sets.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative team player who can work effectively in cross-functional environments.
  • Certification in relevant areas (e.g., Google Analytics/GA4, HubSpot) is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
