Data Analyst, Operations job description

The operations data analyst is responsible for the analysis of production and supply chain data and the preparation of reports to support the decision-making process of the company. The position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work with large data sets. The operations analyst will work closely with the production and supply chain managers to ensure that all data is accurate and up to date.

Your responsibilities:

  • Understand and document business processes to support the development of process improvement initiatives
  • Work with cross-functional teams to plan, analyze and manage production and supply chain activities
  • Analyze consumption and production rates and determine production efficiency
  • Analyze customer requirements and set production expectations
  • Develop standard procedures to optimize workflow
  • Evaluate issues, analyze root causes and derive solutions
  • Serve as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and vendors to collect and document requirements for new system implementations and enhancements
  • Analyze data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Develop training materials and conduct user training for new and existing systems
  • Author detailed reports documenting findings and recommendations
  • Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Monitor compliance with policies and procedures
  • Perform quality assurance testing of new and enhanced systems
  • Manage production support issues and coordinate resolution with relevant parties
  • Create and maintain system documentation
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for applications
  • Participate in project planning and execution

Requirements for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or related field
  • 3-5 years professional experience in data analysis, production planning, or similar role preferred
  • Exceptional analytical skills with high attention to detail preferred
  • Strong mathematical ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
