Data Analyst, Operations job description

The Master Data Analyst will support governance, planning, and execution activities for Oracle master data as it relates to operations. The position has responsibility to ensure that ERP master data and associated processes are functioning optimally and that accuracy is being maintained. This position works in close partnership with many different departments and functional business groups to support operational efficacy.

The day-to-day

  • Focus on continuous improvement by applying strategic approaches to optimize business process, reducing cycle time, and cost of master data management.
  • Ensures that all data is up to date and accurate and that the information is reliable for all users.
  • Manage the master data through system integrations, upgrades, and uploads.
  • Understanding of data requirements gathering and ability to translate business requirements from internal customers to a technical development team.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and engage with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Promote the outcomes and results to the organization.
  • Understands the impact to the business resulting from the changes in standards, processes, and data quality.
  • Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies.
  • Promote, assist, and develop written policies and procedures and publish on ViaSat Intranet.
  • Follow and update process documentation from a non-technical and technical point of view.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ years of experience with Oracle R12 MRP, Purchasing, Receiving, Inventory, Shipping, IB, and Discrete Manufacturing, Master Data.
  • Experience with reporting and analytical tools, such as OBIEE, Alteryx, Tableau, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Permanent Resident required.
  • Up to 10% travel

What Will Help You On The Job

  • 1+ years of work experience in an analytical role.
  • Understanding of the underlying database table structures SQL/PL SQL.
  • Experience with PLM systems such as Oracle Agile PLM.
  • 1+ year of experience in SAP S4/HANA with knowledge of MM, SD, PM, IM, CL modules
