Data Analyst, Product job description

As a Data Analyst within the Product and Data teams at SkySlope, you will be a part of a growing analytics and product operations organization leading the analysis and growth of our core and emerging software products. The insights and recommendations derived by this role will be used to guide and validate major product and marketing efforts for our industry leading real estate software platform. In addition, you will deliver insights into customer behavior that will lead to further development or pivots into new areas of expansion. While spearheading the above efforts, this role will be involved in recommending new infrastructure and design elements to improve our analytics and forecasting models in the future and continue growing our capabilities as a data driven organization.

As a part of this role you will work within three main business functions:

The product data & analytics team - responsible for the quality, reliability and updated business metrics for the organization. This part of the role will include (but is not limited to) getting executive and product data requests answered, supplying customer analytics to the Customer Success organization as well as working with database engineers to simplify and streamline regular reports that already exist. You will also be working on validating data regularly to ensure accuracy and quality is maintained.

Marketing & Growth - responsible for new user acquisition, user adoption and existing user monetization for existing and new products.

The product operations team - responsible for market validation, trends and analytics for product decision making. This part of the role will include collaborating and supporting product managers and leadership in identifying customer adoption gaps, growth opportunities as well as analyzing the results of recent product releases on our product usage and monetization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert in the data pipeline and analytics reports which are shared internally and externally, including making recommendations and understanding the needs of the incoming data and analytics requests
  • Marketing Funnel analysis
  • Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboard development using Tableau
  • Answering simple and complex data and analytics requests from product, marketing and customer success team members
  • Track and manage data and analytics improvement projects
  • Provide high quality and reliable analysis of business operations, marketing and product behavior which will be used for strategic decision making, daily reporting and measuring product and marketing objective success
  • Deliver succinct and valuable performance reports on new product releases and marketing efforts, guiding the team toward efforts that succeed and iterating on those that do not
  • Manage integrations with multiple data, analytics and reporting systems for the purposes of delivering high quality reporting and insights to marketing and product teams
  • Conduct regular analysis and suggest new ways in which the team can use existing or new data to grow our market share, help users adopt our existing products and monetize our existing products.
Data Analyst, Product job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Information Systems/Technology Information Management, a STEM field of study or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience in manipulating data sets and conducting data analytics using SQL, BI tools (ex. Tableau, Good Data, Google Data Studio, Looker, PowerBI, etc…)
  • 2 years of experience managing stakeholders and interacting with a team using agile methodologies (Kanban, SCRUM, etc..) and have the ability to plan and execute data improvement and analytics projects
  • 2 years of experience presenting findings to management and marketing leadership using PowerPoint/Google Slides
  • Experience with marketing, sales and product analytics data sources such as Google Analytics, Hubspot, Salesforce Sales Cloud, Heap or equivalent technologies
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Data Studio, Looker or others is critical for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in building Business data visualizations for product management and senior leadership
  • Experience analyzing multi-channel attribution models
  • Experience setting up website and app analytics, events and integrating business data systems
  • Experience with managing or procuring new vendors based on new data needs (with support from management)Experience working with multiple functions/domains and managing end to end projects
  • Experience with ROI calculations and presentation to executive leadership
