Product Analyst job description

The Role:

We’re looking for a Product Analyst to join Chalkboard and help us build a best-in-class product analytics foundation that drives smarter decisions, stronger experimentation, and measurable product impact.

In this role, you’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Data, playing a meaningful part in how fans experience Chalkboard in real time. If you love building from scratch, thrive in fast-moving environments, and want to win as a team, not just an MVP, this role is for you.

Your Game Plan:

You’ll be responsible for shaping how we instrument, measure, and learn from product behavior across Chalkboard.

Level Up Our Game:

Own product event instrumentation strategy, including taxonomy design, tracking plans, and governance

Design and roll out scalable measurement frameworks that work across pods

Establish best practices that ensure data quality, consistency, and trust

Partner with Product and Engineering to define what success looks like before features ship

Play Like a Captain:

Proactively analyze product and user behavior data to uncover insights that influence roadmap decisions

Support and guide experimentation across pods — from setup to monitoring to analysis

Serve as the internal subject-matter expert for tools like Amplitude

Raise the bar for analytical rigor without slowing teams down

Find a Way to Win:

Scaling instrumentation in a fast-moving product environment

Driving alignment across Product, Engineering, and Data without direct authority

Making progress when systems, documentation, and context are still evolving

Helping teams make strong decisions without perfect information

We Are Better Together:

Create clarity for PMs on what to measure and why

Higher standards for experimentation

Stronger analytics literacy

More disciplined measurement before launch

Better decisions under uncertainty

Product Analyst job requirements

What You Bring to the Team:

Strong SQL skills and comfort working with event-level datasets

Experience with Python for data analysis

Hands-on experience with product analytics tools such as Amplitude and Segment (or similar event-based platforms)

Experience designing and maintaining event taxonomies and tracking plans

Experience designing, running, and analyzing product experiments

5+ years in a Product Analyst or similar role

Proven ability to translate data into clear, actionable recommendations

Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering

Experience in fast-moving or growth-stage environments where analytics foundations are still evolving

Pro Points:

Experience supporting B2C or consumer-facing products with high event volume

Experience building or scaling product analytics foundations at an early-stage or growth-stage company

Experience in sports, sports betting, gaming, or consumer entertainment products

Passion for sports and competitive, consumer-facing products
