Product Analyst job description

Description:

The Product Analyst serves as a key member of the Product organization, providing experienced support in gathering, structuring, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to inform product strategy and enhance the user experience across the Learning Site® and Nualang™ platforms. This role demonstrates strong analytical skills, effective cross-functional communication, and the ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights while operating with a high degree of independence and supporting Product Management, UX, Engineering, and Customer-facing teams. In addition, the Product Analyst supports EdTech-specific analytics needs, including role-based usage patterns, district-level segmentation, academic seasonality, and compliance-aware research operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Product Metrics & Analysis:

Track and report on product usage metrics, including but not limited to engagement, feature adoption, and completion rates.
Support the definition, tracking, and reporting of success metrics tied to product goals.

Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities in product data and translate them into clear takeaways for decision-makers.
Design actionable reports and dashboards to support roadmap prioritization.

Maintain clear metric definitions and a consistent event taxonomy, incorporating role-based segmentation and academic seasonality to improve accuracy and interpretation.
Partner with Engineering to ensure accurate instrumentation and consistent event naming.

Ensure product data and dashboards are understandable and usable by non-technical stakeholders.

Document metric definitions and usage standards to support consistent analysis.

Customer Insights & Research Operations:

Coordinate surveys, interviews, research logistics, and feedback collection.

Organize research artifacts, tag themes, and support synthesis of findings.

Help write research briefs or executive summaries based on interviews, feedback sessions, or usability studies.

Partner with PM and UX to understand what users are doing and why.

Competitive & Market Analysis:

Monitor competitor feature rollouts, positioning shifts, and pricing changes.

Maintain a centralized knowledge base of market intelligence.
Provide comparative analysis that informs product and go-to-market decisions.

Track emerging EdTech trends, LMS ecosystems, and interoperability standards.

Documentation & Requirements Support:

Help Product Management and UX document requirements, structured user stories, and key technical dependencies.

Ensure traceability between customer needs, feedback, specs, and go-to-market messaging

Assist in capturing and organizing decision context and rationale for key initiatives.

Assist in maintaining up-to-date roadmap artifacts by tracking changes, surfacing dependencies, and coordinating inputs from cross-functional teams.

Feedback Loop Management:

Triage product feedback from Sales, Support, Professional Learning, and Marketing.

Maintain organized and well-tagged feedback logs.

Identify patterns that reflect systemic issues or opportunities.

Apply a consistent taxonomy for feedback classification, including theme, severity, and customer segment.

Summarize insights in recurring cross-functional feedback reviews.

Other Duties:

Complete additional tasks or cross-departmental assignments that support organizational goals.

Partner with PMs on lightweight experimentation such as A/B tests, staged rollouts, or guardrail analysis.

Integrate product usage with Salesforce data to support onboarding, account health analysis, and license-to-active conversion tracking.

Product Analyst job requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, EdTech, Product Management, related field, or equivalent experience.

3–5 years of experience in product analytics, research operations, or product operations, preferably in the EdTech space.

Strong ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative data.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information.

Ability to work cross-functionally without formal authority.

Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Notion, Salesforce, FullStory, Smartsheet, Power BI, and/or Chameleon.

Exposure to product discovery methods or outcome-driven development.

Experience working in EdTech organizations.

Working knowledge of FERPA, COPPA, and PII-safe data practices.

Understanding of LMS ecosystems and EdTech interoperability, including LTI, Clever, and ClassLink.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Experience supporting educators, students, or school-based environments is a plus.
