Reporting Analyst, HR Data Focus job description

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Reporting Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team. The reporting analyst will focus on developing and maintaining reports and dashboards across multiple lines of business with a focus on HR Data. This role will partner closely with the Human Resources department to design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports that drive strategic decision-making across HR functions including talent acquisition, employee engagement, compensation, and payroll.

The reporting analyst may also work with other departments on reports as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in SQL and Power BI, experience with HR systems, and a passion for turning data into meaningful business intelligence.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into actionable insights.

Develop and maintain dashboards using Power BI to visualize metrics and KPIs.

Work closely with the Data Architecture team to extract, transform, and analyze data using SQL from various HR and payroll systems.

Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and consistency across platforms.

Support HR initiatives with ad hoc reporting and data analysis.

Collaborate with HRIS and Data Architecture teams to streamline data flows and improve reporting capabilities.

Document data definitions, processes, and dashboard logic for transparency and scalability.

Reporting Analyst, HR Data Focus job requirements

Minimum Requirements include:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, HR, MIS, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution preferred.
3+ years in a Data or Analytics focused role.

Proven experience as a Report Developer or Data Analyst, preferably in HR or related domains.

Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data.
Hands-on experience with Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualization.

Proficient with automated and scheduled reporting and delivering customized, ad-hoc reporting solutions.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Comfort working with ambiguity and deriving concrete strategy.
Intermediate Excel skills including pivot tables, formulas, and data modeling.

Familiarity with HR systems (e.g., Workday) and Payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG).

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to lift files, records, and computer paper (approximately 5-10 lbs.)

Ability to operate a computer, phone system and general office equipment

Work over 40 hours per week as business needs deem appropriate

Work indoors approximately 100% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with data governance and HR data privacy best practices.

Experience with data warehouses and ETL processes.

Knowledge of report and dashboard design best practices.

Familiarity with the software development life cycle, change management and working across multiple environments.

Coding/Scripting experience in any of the following: React, Javascript, VBA or Python.

Experience with commercial real estate, accounting and financial concepts is a plus.

Experience with defect tracking.

Los Angeles & Boston: $77,000 - $100,000
San Francisco & New York: $85,000 - $110,000
