This exciting analytics role is designed for an early-career analyst with strong Excel skills, foundational experience in Tableau, high attention to detail, and an interest in tourism, consumer insight, economics, hospitality and destination marketing analytics. The ideal candidate is curious about people and business, comfortable using data to communicate and eager to work in a collaborative environment where your peers are passionate about New York City.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Contribute to Tableau dashboards used for hotel and market performance reporting, ensuring data accuracy and clear visual storytelling.

Visitor Trends & Market Analysis:

Analyze visitor trends under the direction of the Research Manager to support organizational insights and strategic planning.

Assist with visitor segmentation analysis, including demographic, behavioral, geographic and trip-purpose segments.

Support cohort studies to understand changes in visitor behavior over time (e.g., repeat visitation, seasonality, booking patterns).

Analyze and synthesize government and public-sector visitation data (e.g., census, transportation, border, or tourism datasets) to inform market profiles.

Help build visitor profiles, summary presentations and fact sheets for internal teams, members and external stakeholders.
Translate complex datasets into clear, well-structured tables, charts, and narratives appropriate for non-technical audiences.

Provide ad hoc analytical support to the research, sales, membership and marketing teams under the direction of the VP of Research, including market performance summaries and custom data requests. Examples include analyzing Visa spend data, airline data, visitor affinity and attraction data and membership surveys post events, among others.

Translate quantitative analysis into clear, actionable insights aligned with marketing and organizational priorities.

Support the creation of summary tables, charts and visuals in Excel and Tableau for presentations and internal readouts.

Research Operations & Communications:
