Senior Data Analyst job description

Rufus, Amazon's media agency of record, is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support the Global Data, Tech and Tools (DTT) team and their overarching goal of automating media data delivery to Amazon stakeholders. This role reports to the Director of Product Management and will be responsible for driving analysis on the tools and processes used for manual data collection so that workstreams can be automated. Your role is to support the development of stories and tasks so that engineers can build automated data pipelines and associated data monitoring, alerts, and quality checks. As a technical resource, you will be responsible for knowing the logic and models used to build our data pipeline and will be able to communicate effectively with people of varying technical expertise, ranging from business stakeholders to engineers. The ideal candidate has experience working globally and formulating questions that get to the answers needed to make automation a reality. This is a cross-functional role working with stakeholders responsible for media planning and buying and within DTT to drive the analysis required for Product and Engineering to meet our goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with stakeholders in local countries to gather requirements and information relative to systems, tools, and processes
  • Perform gap analysis on existing systems, tools, and processes in context of automation requirements and the onboarding of new data
  • Coordinate with Product and Engineering resources to define solutions to overcome data gaps
  • Analyze sample datasets to ensure full understanding of how data is organized and appropriate requirements for build and test scenarios.
  • Work with Product Manager to develop stories and supporting documentation to help ensure Engineers are prepared to plan and build automated pipelines and associated components.
  • Support quality checks on completed stories
  • Communicate requirements, logic and data model specifics to stakeholders as needed
  • Provide first step of response for Program Managers reporting data issues during data collection and validation
  • Act as SME on datasets
  • Work closely with Product Manager to ensure comprehensive EPICs, stories, acceptance criteria and roadmap regarding data collection/pipeline
Senior Data Analyst job requirements

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years' experience within a data analysis role, ideally within a media agency
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Proficient using MSFT Excel and SQL queries to analyze data particularly in cloud-based environments such as Snowflake.
  • Effective communication skills and experience writing technical requirements
  • Familiarity with the media buying process and associated platforms (including ad servers, DSPs, social platforms, media buying, and research)
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodology and relevant product management tools such as Jira, Asana, etc.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $105,000.
