Senior Data Analyst, Global Consumer Insights job description

The Opportunity:

The Global Consumer Insights department at Mattel, Inc. is looking for a Sr. Analyst with qualitative and quantitative research experience to support the tech innovation team. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, an innovative thinker, and poised presenter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This individual will work closely with their manager to ensure the the ‘voice of the consumer’ drives innovation and success at Mattel.

What Your Impact Will Be:

Consumer Advocacy and Collaboration:

Act as a liaison between the Consumer Insights department and key brand partners, building strong relationships and representing the ‘voice of the consumer’ during meetings.
Confidently contribute perspectives in meetings.

Strategic Advising:

Serving as a trusted advisor to brand teams when questions regarding the consumer arise.

Deliver well-informed recommendations to influence brand decisions and business strategies.

Research Execution and Presentation:

With the support of your manager, oversee the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research projects including surveys, focus groups, play sessions and IDIs

Synthesize data from both primary research projects and secondary sources into meaningful conclusions.

Develop compelling, story-driven presentations that highlight key findings and actionable recommendations

Confidently present insightful findings with actionable recommendations to key partners

Additional Responsibilities:

Stay informed on emerging consumer trends and industry shifts that could influence the business.

Occasional moderation of focus groups, IDIs and UX sessions may be necessary.

Confident and articulate presenter who can effectively represent the ‘voice of the consumer’ in meetings.

Positive, cooperative interpersonal skills with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach.

Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining high-quality work.

Demonstrates curiosity and a forward-thinking mindset, with an interest in agile research methodologies and emerging technologies, including AI, to drive innovative insights.

Ability to moderate various formats of qualitative research.

Familiarity with UX research

Experience and Education Required:

Undergraduate degree (BS, BA) with about 3-5 years of experience is required.

Prior knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies

Exceptional writing and communication skills, particularly in creating compelling presentations.

Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously

Experience in a tech related field and with UX testing
