THE TEAM

We are excited about music, live entertainment, marketing, data, and technology. We are driven by a passion to understand the root causes of complicated problems and partner with stakeholders to discover and implement solutions. Most of us had no previous experience working in music -- just a shared excitement about the space, a willingness to go to concerts / venues / festivals when needed as part of the job, and a desire to go to concerts / venues / festivals in our free time, too.

The Marketing Insights and Data Analytics Services team within the Marketing & Data Strategy organization works on projects across all divisions, to develop insights around Fans and Marketing programs. These insights are used to inspire new marketing programs and improve existing marketing efforts across Concerts, Ticketmaster, and Sponsorship business units. We are also responsible for quantifying the value of our marketing efforts through our test and learn program, incrementality testing and attribution thought leadership.

THE ROLE

The Senior Marketing Data Analyst will play a strategic role in leveraging advanced data science techniques, statistical modeling, and analytics to drive marketing effectiveness and business growth. You will lead the development and implementation of data-driven strategies, provide guidance to junior analysts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize marketing campaigns and improve customer targeting. Your expertise in data science, marketing analytics, and leadership will be instrumental in shaping the organization's marketing strategies and driving innovation.

The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and collaborative. They are focused on driving insights - pulling data, building dashboards, and creating recommendations. This person will report to the VP of Analytics.

What This Role Will Do

  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency through data quality checks and validation processes.
  • Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze marketing data and uncover meaningful insights.
  • Lead the development of predictive models to identify customer behavior patterns, predict customer lifetime value, and segment customers for targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Utilize data clustering, regression analysis, decision trees, and other modelling techniques to solve marketing problems and optimize marketing strategies.
  • Analyze test results using statistical methods to determine statistically significant findings and guide decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to iterate and refine marketing strategies based on test outcomes.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations to communicate complex marketing data insights to stakeholders.
  • Create regular reports and presentations that highlight key findings, trends, and performance metrics.
  • Present data-driven recommendations and insights to marketing teams, management, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, sales, and IT, to align data-driven strategies with business objectives.

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING:

Required Technical Skills/Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Computer Science, Marketing Science, Marketing Analytics or similar quantitative field
  • 4+ years of experience with any combination of advanced and predictive analytics, marketing analytics, and analytic techniques for marketing, customer, and business applications
  • 2+ years crafting and developing business intelligence dashboards using any BI tools
  • Extensive experience with SQL and Python / R
  • Technical understanding of probability & statistics, machine learning and optimization algorithms.
  • Experience creating dashboards, authoring reporting and troubleshooting BI reporting and dashboard platforms such as DOMO, Tableau or similar tool
  • Experience incorporating complex data sets from different data sources, such as our database, redshift clusters and other API’s into BI reporting and dashboard platforms
  • Expertise in MS Excel – lookups, pivot tables, dynamic charts and tables required
  • Experience in schema design and dimensional data modeling and building data pipelines
  • Ability to translate complicated analyses into plain language, both in speaking and writing
  • Technical understanding of probability & statistics, machine learning and optimization algorithms.
  • Ensure quality of data and accuracy of downstream reporting through precise attention to detail
  • Collaborate with programmers, engineers and business analysts to test, clean, and standardized data to meet the business requirements
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Prior experience with Analytical Modelling Platform or Media/Agency Industry experience
  • Familiarity with a broad set of topics and subject areas within marketing analytics (e.g. campaign attribution/effectiveness, web tracking, customer lifecycle marketing)
  • Experience in Marketing Mix Modelling
  • Experience analyzing clickstream and conversion data (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, AppsFlyer)
  • Experience analyzing Digital Marketing performance (search, email, social, programmatic display, etc.)
  • Experience working in Entertainment industry
