About Wheelhouse DMG

Wheelhouse DMG is a data-driven performance marketing agency. We develop digital strategies that deliver exceptional business performance. We do this by working in close partnership with our clients to gain a deep understanding of their businesses and then using data science and our own technology to surface undiscovered insights and opportunities.

Our work and our clients are varied but always focused on the same thing – creating business value. We’ve developed digital advertising strategies that generate tens of millions in profit for an online bookseller, helped a fast-growing financial services firm increase lead generation 10x while reducing CPL and increased online appointment bookings by 857% for one of the largest health systems in the U.S. We’ve developed global domain strategy for a billion-dollar insurance network, developed proprietary attribution models for global medical device companies and harnessed SEO to help dozens of ecommerce companies make organic search their fastest growing and most profitable source of revenue.

We don’t make guesses or blindly follow “best practices”. We use data science, our team’s deep expertise and our own technology to surface and deliver on the most valuable opportunities for our clients – whatever they may be.

Senior Data Analyst, Marketing job description

Wheelhouse DMG is headquartered in Seattle, but the right candidate can live and work anywhere in the U.S.

We're known for an unusual combination of marketing savvy and technical expertise that produces compelling ROI for our clients. But we're equally known for a few things we also consider sacrosanct – and perhaps even more foundational to our success:

  • The transparency and helpful spirit with which we do our work
  • The way in which we quickly become full partners in client marketing initiatives
  • The care and thoughtfulness that we show our clients

As our Senior Marketing Data Analyst, you will use your skills to provide data-driven insights related to our clients' marketing performance, support analytics projects and processes, and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives. The ideal candidate for this role is a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. You should have a passion for understanding the nuances of digital marketing, while constantly seeking opportunities to improve performance and drive results for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data from various digital marketing channels (including paid search, display, social media, email, etc.) to provide actionable insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Design, execute, and analyze A/B and multivariate tests to optimize marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Develop and execute GA4 implementation strategies, ensuring accurate tracking of core KPIs and user journeys, and employing custom data collection and platform configurations based on client needs.
  • Create data visualizations to effectively communicate complex data and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Apply predictive analytics and modeling techniques to forecast campaign performance and develop data-driven marketing strategies.
  • Perform data mining, forecasting, and trend analysis using a variety of data sources and methodologies to inform future strategies.
  • Conduct research and analysis of competitors and industry trends for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Work closely with account management teams to ensure data-driven decision-making and campaign optimization.
  • Participate in designing, implementing, and maintaining marketing data infrastructure and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends, analytics tools, and industry best practices to ensure strategies and tactics remain competitive and effective.
Senior Data Analyst, Marketing job requirements

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as statistics, data science, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing data analysis role, preferably within a digital marketing agency or similar environment.
  • Expertise in web analytics technologies, preferably Google Analytics 4 (experience with Tealium a plus).
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing KPIs, attribution models, and campaign optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, preferably PostgreSQL, Python, and R, statistical techniques (e.g., regression, clustering, time series analysis) and tag management systems such as Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience with cloud data warehousing technologies like AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
  • Familiarity with dbt Cloud, GitHub, and digital marketing platforms such as Google Ads and Facebook Ads a plus.

Beyond Experience: About You

Your love of digital marketing runs deep. You've likely been described as a T-Shaped Marketer, a jack of all trades, or a lifelong learner. You constantly look for new opportunities to connect the dots between marketing tactics and the goals you're working to achieve. And your relentless focus on business performance consistently delivers exceptional results.

You bias toward enabling team members rather than directing or dictating. You thrive in collaborative situations and may have commandeered a whiteboard or two in your day during brainstorming sessions. You're an active listener and are always looking for ways to help clients succeed, be that integrating new marketing tactics, proposing new work, or simply looking for ways to better collaborate. You have high emotional intelligence and empathy and are skilled at delivering feedback in a kind manner.
