Senior Product Analyst job description

What You’ll Do:

Drive Data-Informed Product Decisions:

Serve as the embedded analytics expert within the product team, supporting web and mobile product experiences.

Partner with product managers to define measurement strategies and success metrics for key product initiatives.

Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform product strategy, prioritization, and experimentation.

Build Measurement Frameworks and Scalable Analytics:

Design and implement product performance measurement frameworks and KPIs that track engagement, conversion, and customer behavior.

Develop and automate dashboards and reporting using tools such as Power BI, Adobe Analytics, etc.

Establish reporting practices that help product teams understand performance against goals and uncover opportunities to improve the customer experience.

Lead Product Experimentation and Insights:

Partner with product and engineering teams to design and evaluate experiments and A/B tests across web and app experiences.

Analyze experiment results and provide clear recommendations to inform product decisions.

Use cohort analysis, funnel analysis, and behavioral insights to identify growth opportunities.

Develop Deep Domain Expertise:

Become the subject matter expert in Shutterfly’s core customer journeys, including browsing, product creation, personalization, cart, and checkout.

Develop deep familiarity with key datasets and prioritize the most impactful signals within complex data environments.

Identify emerging trends and insights that influence product and business strategies.

Enable Data-Driven Culture:

Act as an internal consultant to product teams on measurement strategy, analytics best practices, and data interpretation.

Foster data literacy within the organization by educating stakeholders on metrics, experimentation, and analytics tools.

Mentor junior analysts and contribute to best practices in data visualization and storytelling.

Senior Product Analyst job requirements

Minimum Requirements:

4+ years of experience in product analytics, business analytics, or a related analytical role supporting digital products.

Advanced proficiency with analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Adobe Analytics, etc.

Deep understanding of web and mobile analytics concepts including cohort analysis, funnel analysis, attribution models, and experimentation frameworks.

Experience partnering with product teams in an agile product development environment.

Strong ability to communicate insights and influence product decisions through data storytelling.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience analyzing consumer e-commerce or digital marketplace products.

Familiarity with performance marketing measurement including multi-touch attribution and lift studies.

Experience working with large-scale data environments, data warehouses, and data governance frameworks.

Experience supporting experimentation and optimization initiatives across customer journeys.
