Web Analytics Manager job description

As a team manager with individual contributor responsibilities, you will be part of a centralized data analytics community that encourages collaborations, learning opportunities, and thought partnership from other analysts and data scientists. You will partner with cross-functional teams in Product Management, Business Development, E-commerce, and Category Business Managers and other cross-functional stakeholders to identify key metrics and attributes that contribute to profitability and growth and answer complex business questions. You will play a key role in helping the stakeholders become a world-class data and insights-driven team.

What you will do:

Manage a team of merchandising and e-commerce analysts; provide guidance and mentorship, engage with all stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet expectations, advocate for team member’s development and growth, leverage organizational resources to improve team efficiency.

Partner with product category merchandise business owners to provide subject matter expertise and analytics insights while serving as a data expert and process owner.

Answer measurement and data integration questions: define analytics approach, retrieve, and manipulate data needed to perform analysis, and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.

Build and maintain domain expertise in relevant data sets and be able to think strategically about what data is critical to capture.

Define measurement frameworks and KPIs for business performance initiatives; prototype and/or build reports; capture reporting requirements and partner with the Business Intelligence team to develop report and dashboards.

Keep up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in data analytics.

Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure the successful implementation of data-driven initiatives.

Passionately drive data literacy and build a positive learning environment around analytics, data science, and data visualization topics. Actively look to mentor junior analysts and provide constructive feedback, guidance, and thought leadership.

Web Analytics Manager job requirements

The Skills You'll Bring:

Highly skilled at writing and optimizing SQL queries to analyze large data sets in a cloud database environment

Excellent data storyteller adept at summarizing complex data analysis into easy-to-understand visuals and presentations up to an executive level

A self-sufficient problem solver with the ability to think critically, understand stakeholders needs, and develop analytics frameworks to answer often ambiguous business questions

Excel power user and experience building reports and dashboards in Tableau or PowerBI while following data visualization best practices

A self-starter who takes ownership of their domain and establishes processes to organize requests into a manageable workflow

Great communicator who sets clear expectations and anticipates questions and concerns in advance

Working knowledge of key analytics principles such as randomized control experimentation, digital/web/app analytics, cohort analysis, attribution, etc.

B.S. or M.S. degree in quantitative field and 7+ years of progressive experience in an analytical role. At least 2 years in managing a team of analysts

The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The base pay ranges included below are specific to the locations listed, and may not be applicable to other locations.

California : [$115,000-$162,750]

Connecticut and New York: [$115,000-$149,000]

Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota and Washington: [$115,000-$138,000]

Nevada: [$108,000-$149,000]

Maryland and New Jersey: [$124,250-$149,000]

Hawaii : [$108,000– $129,750]

This position may be eligible for a bonus incentive, health benefits, a 401K program, and other employee perks.
