Job Description & Responsibilities
Diversity Lab is seeking a Data Analyst to help us derive useful, practical, and actionable insights from our talent data through business intelligence reporting and data visualization, including the creation of user-friendly, interactive Tableau dashboards.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future. Diversity Lab is an equal opportunity employer.

We don’t expect one human to embody all these skills. But if you have some of these key skills and are willing to learn, we encourage you to apply. This individual will work closely with the Senior Director of Analytics, the Data Analytics Engineer, and other members of the team to perform end-to-end analyses with an emphasis on business intelligence reporting and visualization, from gathering necessary information, to cleaning and organizing data, to creating, summarizing, and interpreting output, and presenting insights through Tableau dashboards as needed for Diversity Lab’s data-driven programs and initiatives.
This role will be primarily technical in nature, requiring the use of tools such as Tableau (Desktop and Cloud), R, and BigQuery as appropriate for each project.
The position requires interaction with our team, external experts, and other stakeholders, so strong interpersonal and communication skills – including a positive, problem-solving approach and attitude – are incredibly important.
Responsibilities:

Partner with internal stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate questions into interactive dashboard requirements (metrics, filters, drill-downs, and definitions)
Perform analysis to assess the quality and meaning of various talent data, including but not limited to survey responses and employment data
Use analytical tools to identify patterns and trends, producing reports and other outputs as needed
Generate code (using R or other similar tools) to support recurring analyses and dashboard-ready outputs, automating processes where possible
Document dashboard metrics and definitions to ensure consistency and transparency across stakeholders.
Follow team protocols and best practices to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of Diversity Lab and its clients’ data
Collaborate with other data analysts
A knowledge of statistical methodologies like regression analysis and other predictive modeling is a benefit
Use technical skills and capabilities to support additional Diversity Lab needs, as applicable
Perform other job-related duties and special projects at the specialist level as required
Requirements
Skills:
Analytical thinking skills, including the ability to communicate analytic thoughts clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences through data visualizations, written summaries, and verbal communication
Strong data visualization judgment (layout, accessibility, labeling, and choosing the right chart for the message)
Problem-solving skills, including the ability to creatively handle challenges as they arise
Project management skills, including excellent attention to detail and timeline management
Excellent client relationship skills, including responsiveness and a willingness to help solve problems in a friendly, diplomatic, and efficient manner
High EQ; ability to interact effectively with team members and external partners; self-awareness and sensitivity to communications and team relationships
Embody a learning mindset; maintain curiosity and interest in continuing to learn about relevant issues, sharing knowledge with teammates, and growing professionally
Willingness to listen to and learn from feedback, offer feedback to others as appropriate, learn from mistakes, and find ways to problem-solve challenging issues
Ability to be flexible and adapt to new and rapidly changing situations and environments; comfortable with constant change and iterative processes
Self-motivation; ability to take initiative with minimal assistance and to manage time efficiently
Ability to stay composed and focused under pressure and hard deadlines
Qualifications:
BS in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, or finance, or supplemental data analytics training/education in a related field
Experience in the legal profession with talent development and diversity is beneficial
Knowledge of and experience with data security protocols and technology to safeguard sensitive and confidential information
Proficiency with various technical/analytical tools, especially Tableau (or similar visualization tools), plus R, Python, or BigQuery, and Qualtrics or other survey tools
Comfort with learning and using many forms of technology; proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms), Word, Excel, Zoom, and other virtual meeting platforms, and Google Slides/Microsoft PowerPoint and other tools, with the ability to learn new software quickly
