Job Description & Responsibilities
Overview
An innovative healthcare technology organization is seeking a Data Analyst with deep expertise in Value-Based Care (VBC) to help transform how healthcare outcomes and costs are managed.
This organization partners with large provider groups and health systems to succeed in risk-based and value-based care contracts, using advanced analytics, coordination, and disease management to improve patient outcomes while reducing the total cost of care.
This is a rare opportunity to join a mission-driven team focused on improving the lives of patients with complex medical conditions. Your work will directly influence how care is delivered, how providers manage populations, and how healthcare systems improve outcomes for patients across the country.
If you are passionate about using data to improve healthcare quality, lower costs, and positively impact patient lives, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference.
The Role
We are seeking a Data Analyst with strong Value-Based Care experience to turn complex healthcare data into actionable clinical and financial insights. This role serves as the bridge between raw healthcare data and the strategic decisions that drive success in risk-based care models.
The ideal candidate brings both a “hunter” mindset for identifying patterns in claims and clinical data and a “storyteller” mindset for communicating insights to stakeholders. This role goes beyond reporting numbers—you will help explain the drivers behind healthcare costs, patient outcomes, and care utilization patterns.
Direct Value-Based Care experience is required.
What You’ll Do:
Value-Based Care Performance Tracking
Monitor and report on key VBC performance metrics including Medical Loss Ratio (MLR), Total Cost of Care (TCoC), and Per Member Per Month (PMPM) spending.
Claims & Utilization Analysis
Analyze medical and pharmacy claims (837/835) to identify utilization trends such as ER overuse, out-of-network leakage, and high-cost imaging patterns.
Quality & HEDIS Reporting
Track clinical quality measures and HEDIS performance to support improved care delivery and maximize shared savings opportunities.
Risk Adjustment Support
Analyze HCC coding accuracy and identify opportunities to improve patient risk documentation.
Dashboard Development
Build and maintain automated BI dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Sigma, or Looker to create a single source of truth for leadership and clinical partners.
Advanced Analytical Deep Dives
Conduct targeted analyses to answer key business and clinical questions, such as evaluating the impact of care management programs on hospital readmissions or patient outcomes.
Why This Role Matters:
This position offers the opportunity to use data to directly improve patient outcomes and healthcare system performance. Your work will support healthcare providers in delivering better care, reducing unnecessary costs, and helping patients with complex conditions receive the right care at the right time.
If you are passionate about analytics and want your work to make a measurable impact on the health of others, this is a role where your insights will truly matter.
